Wilo: Series extension of electronically controlled high-pressure multistage centrifugal pumps
Two new electronically controlled high-pressure multistage centrifugal pumps / “Wilo-Multivert MVIE 70/95” for energy-saving operation according to the demands / Complete MVI series now available in electronically controlled version / Numerous application areas in water supply and pressure boosting / Increased service life and optimum operational safety thanks to dynamic speed adjustment / Construction for easy maintenance

Dortmund. The pump expert WILO AG has extended its electronically controlled high-pressure multistage centrifugal pumps series “Wilo-Multivert MVIE”. With the models “MVIE 70” and “MVIE 95”, now also the two most powerful pumps of the “Wilo Multivert MVI” series are available with electronic control. The range comprehends pumps for water supply and pressure boosting, industrial applications as well as for washing and sprinkling installations. The performance range of the MVI series ranges from versions with a maximum volume flow of 165 m3/h and delivery heads of up to 250 m.

The new high-pressure multistage centrifugal pumps “Wilo-Multivert MVIE 70” and “MVIE 95” are available in a performance range between 11 and 22 kW. They offer maximum volume flows of approximately 110 m3/h or 140 m3/h and achieve delivery heads of up to 100 m and 76 m respectively. Due to electronic speed control the largest models of the series can now be operated an especially energy-saving way and according to the demands.
Integrated, air-cooled frequency converters allow continuous adjustment to performance demands. In doing so, the frequency of 50 Hertz is electronically controlled with the help of the frequency converter, thus controlling the pump’s speed. Thereby, a running of the pump with full power for an unnecessary long time is avoided, because this is not required during the entire operation. This is how considerable saving potentials can be developed because the pump can often run in a very economical partial-load operation. Moreover, the adjustment of the flow rate reduces the noises.

Another advantage of the partial-load operation is a longer  service life of the pump because wear is considerably lower than at full load. In addition, compressive stresses in the main power supply can be balanced by means of electronic control because the pump’s performance can be adjusted dynamically. The “Wilo-Multivert MVIE 70” and “MVIE 95” are also suitable for integration into building automation.

Despite the quite high weight, the two largest “Wilo-Multivert MVIE” models can be maintained very easily. The pumps with in-line construction are equipped with a mechanical seal in cartridge construction, whereby a replacement can be made without laborious and time-consuming dismantling of the motor.

Just like in the entire “Wilo MVIE” series, IEC norm motors with integrated motor protection are also used for “Wilo-Multivert MVIE 70” and “MVIE 95”. The pumps are authorised for potable water in accordance with KTW and WRAS.

The two most powerful models of the “Wilo-Multivert MVI” series are now available in electronically controlled versions. Due to the automatic speed control the “Wilo-Multivert MVIE 70” and the “MVIE 95” save considerably more energy and are more economical than uncontrolled pumps. With these new products the Dortmund-based pump manufacturer Wilo has extended its electronically controlled high-pressure multistage centrifugal pumps series “Wilo-Multivert MVIE”.
